Interview:

When did you first realize you wanted to be a writer?

From the time I was in high school I was making up stories for my friends. However, I didn’t realize this was something I wanted to do until about 15 years ago.

What would you say is your interesting writing quirk?

I’m not sure I have one I guess I would have to ask those that have read my books and seen me writing. The only thing I can think of off the top of my head is that I will put a part of my personality or habits into the main character of nearly every book; some of their likes or dislikes will be the same as mine.

What was one of the most surprising things you learned in creating your books?

The amount of research it really takes to make the books believable and accurate as far as information spoken about. Many do not realize that even in writing fiction books, there is a great deal of research that needs to done.

Where did you get ideas for your books?

For the Valentine series (Looking Through Blind Eyes; Reflection of Secrets; and Shattered Visions Broken Memories) the idea came over my love and somewhat obsession of the Mob. There’s something about it that intrigues me. However, I didn’t want it to be the usual story of killings etc. I wanted it to be about the mob with a twist.

How many books have you written? Which is your favorite?

I have written a total of four, although only one currently has been published. Two are awaiting publication and one still needs to be finished. My favorite would have to be Looking Through Blind Eyes because it is the start of the Valentine series and where it all began.

What do you think makes a good story?

The best stories are those that draw the readers in and make them feel a part of the story; like it is a running movie in the reader’s head.

Can you tell us a little about your books?

All Janie and Daniel wanted was a better life and growing up in small town Louisiana did not give them that opportunity. So the sister and brother, with the help of Daniel’s “new employer”, headed to Los Angeles, California in the hopes of improving their lives. However, their hopes begin to diminish when Daniel’s work in organized crime leads them down dangerous and deadly roads. After Daniel’s mysterious disappearance and death Janie plunges deep into not only grief over the loss of her brother but also in love to the “Big Boss’s Assistant”, Rico. The couple seems to have everything going for them except Rico’s job takes him away for days on end sometimes. Janie’s suspicions and worries over Rico’s possible infidelity reveals information she never imagined would come to light. Her undying conditional love for this man leads to secrets, lies, and murder. Soon Janie finds herself on the wrong side of the gun hanging off a cliff deep in the woods of North Carolina.
