Interview with Charles and Wendy Siefken

We are a mother and son writing team who has a love of stories and creating other worlds.
You can find us on Facebook, and Twitter.
When did you first realize you wanted to be a writer?
My son has always been writing stories and I have always been writing and telling stories too. Just never thought of getting published. A challenge for a principal lead us on the path to being published!
What would you say is your interesting writing quirk?
I am sure others do it too, but when we are out in public we watch people and pick interesting aspects of them to use as characters in our stories.
What was one of the most surprising things you learned in creating your books?
That someone from the middle of Iowa can publish a book too.
Where did you get ideas for your books?
Video games, other books we have read, parts in a movie or a show. Most anywhere.

Available at Amazon

How many books have you written? Which is your favorite? So far we have published one and are finishing the second. We have many starts that have taken a back burner for now. But we love them all, I think Kai’s Journey is our favorite, it was our first!
What do you think makes a good story?
Interesting characters and a good story line.
