Interview with Cambria Hebert
Cambria Hebert is the author of the young adult paranormal Heaven and Hell Series and the upcoming Death Escorts’ Series. She loves a caramel latte, hates math and is afraid of chickens (yes , chickens ). She went to college for a bachelor’s degree, couldn’t pick a major and ended up with a degree in cosmetology. So rest assured her characters will always have good hair. She currently lives in Pennsylvania with her husband and children (both human and furry) where she is plotting her next book. When did you first realize you wanted to be an Author?
Well I was always interested in my writing since I was a teenager when I attempted to write a book. But it wasn’t until about 7 years ago I thought about really pursuing it.
What would you say is your interesting quirk that only happens when you are writing?
Hmm. Well lately I have been wearing a hoodie with the hood up. I look like a bank robber while I’m writing but it helps me get into the zone. LOL.
What was one of the most surprising things you learned in writing your books?
That I can do more than I thought. And also that the characters who live in my head are real to me. It’s like they rely on me to tell their story. (No I am NOT weird…. ha ha ha)
Where did you get ideas for your books?
Everything! From people, places , movies , music, a single word or thought, a phrase… nothing is off limits !
Out of all the books you have written which is your favorite and why?
OOOhhhhh, I can’t choose. That’s like choosing between caramel and chocolate. Well, I would pick caramel…. hmmmmm.
Is your book considered Erotica, Romance with a few spicy scenes or YA and Why?
Well I consider Recalled a New adult romance with elements of thriller, paranormal and mystery. It doesn’t have any sexual content in it though. But I do think it’s a love story.
What do you think makes a good story?
Good characters , an interesting setting and a plot the keeps the characters reacting.
Who are some of your favorite Authors?
And so many Indie authors I couldn’t possibly list them all. I would be here all day!
If you could pick one actor to play a character in your book in the movie version, who would it be ?
I’m totally lame… I really don’t know who I would pick to play Dex from Recalled. I would love to hear fan suggestions . LOL.
What sets your book apart from others of the same genre ?
I think the plot is unique.
Who are some of the people that influenced your love of writing?
R.L. Stine. I loved reading his books as a child. Totally inspired a love of story in me.
If you had one piece of advice for an aspiring Author what would it be ?
Don’t give up. Keep writing. Keep learning.
What would you like to say to friends and family of Authors (not just your own)?
Supporting an author is one of the most important things you can do. We appreciate it more than you know.
Is there anything else you want to share with your readers?
I just want to say thank you for all the support I have gotten. It truly means so much and its humbling at times .

” He wanted to know my secrets . I almost told him. I almost told him everything. Lying out there in the Alaskans now hadn’t been cold. It was warm. We’d never been that close before. Sure, I always felt a little pull between us, but tonight it seemed stronger I felt like I might get a glimpse of the man he seemed to hide.
I almost admitted my secrets . I thought about it. But I knew in that moment I wouldn’t be able to stop at one. They all would’ve come tumbling out of my mouth. The way he looked at me through the dark… I could feel his stare. And even though my hands were gloved, I swear I could feel the heat of his skin against mine.
For a moment, when he touched my cheek, I thought he might kiss me, lay his lips upon mine, and that the northern lights would’ve become just background to the show of colors and feelings swirling within me.
But something held him back. Just as something held me back.
I wasn’t quite sure what it was , but I wanted to find it. I wanted to erase it so the only thing between us was the beating of our hearts and the barrier of our skin.”
~ Piper from Recalled.
