Dracula and Grimm

Well, I don’t have cable but this morning I raided Hulu+. I watched Dracula, starring Jonathan Rhys Meyers from the Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, among other things and the new season of Grimm!

JPDRACULA1-articleLargeFirst things first, we meet Dracula in London just before the onset of electricity. He has been awakened by a man, who shares a mutual need for revenge on the Draconian Order responsible for the death, rape and general evilness. I must say that  Renfield is refreshingly played by Nonso Anozie, a stoic and a very beautiful contrast to the high society of London’s 1800s. He is Dracula’s assistant and right hand man. The story is a nice twist but a couple of splashes of blood, and a digital sex scene a hit horror story does not make. I am holding out hope that the story gets better because as an introduction I just have to say, “meh.”

Grimm Season 3 starts off with a bang. That’s all I can say. Zombie Nick has been hinted at Grimm-ZombieNickso I will say he’s so crazy and scary, think evil Grimm on steroids. Monroe, Juliet, Rosalee, Capt. Reynard and Hank are picking up the slack. Rosalee’s addition was so great because she is the apothecary who finds the weird cures to weird Grimm stuff.   I can’t wait to see what happens with  Aldelaide’s baby and the DNA test?! Who’s the Father, call Maury?! Grimm still gets 5 Stars.
