The Cursed Book 3.5:
The Ancients of Faerie are awakening, and they don’t like what they see. Imprisoned and cursed to eternal slumber in chains for centuries, Arthas, the Unseelie King of Faerie, returns to claim his realm back. The world has changed and the thirst for vengeance is all consuming…
There is no hope.
Only blood and darkness await.
Shade rules as Queen of the Seelie Summer Court with her love, a Teleen Faerie named Dylan at her side. But, the dark court of Unseelie faeries will do everything in their power to rule the earth, including enslaving the human world. Arthas, the Unseelie Ancient King, has shattered the boundaries of Faerie and the human cities are filling with his evil, unearthly armies.
Old enemies become allies. New friends bring old secrets and an ancient magic to light. Alongside the Ancient Seelie Queen, Kilara, Shade needs to harness this wild magic before the lines between human and faery are forever destroyed.
I read the Omnibus, then I received a review copy of Ever Wrath. I thoroughly enjoyed the Omnibus. My I loved reading about Dylan and Shade, as well as the people that made her life beautiful and miserable each character served a purpose. I am glad that Alexia added in Shade’s family. It seemed wrong that Shade would have to go through all of her triumphs and peculiarities without her family by her side. One of the really awesome things that I loved reading about is Arthas because it gave more a view at the Seelie and Unseelie. Seeing things from his point of view helped expand Shade’s World, as well as the world of Faery. I will say this. As started reading Ever Wrath I was afraid that Alexia was losing momentum. The beginning didn’t have me hooked like the others. Those doubts were quickly erased as I read further. I am really enjoying meeting the crazy, immortal Ancients and wonder what kind of havoc they have in store for the remainder of the series. Right now they are subdued or fading, however, I still think there is a potential for some wonkiness to ensue. I can’t wait to see what Alexia comes up with next in Benton’s Story.
