Review of Delgo

Well it’s 3 AM and sleep is not coming anytime soon, so I thought I share some thoughts on a movie everyone called a real stinker. Okay, I will admit animation is not Dreamworks or Pixar, but I have to say that I disagree with the rotten tomatoes and IMDB that only gave it two stars. Let me start from the beginning.

7331604.3Delgo is the story of two warring nations the Lockni and the Norhin People. The Lockni are the humble Earth Dwellers who value life and spirituality and Norhin are the Sky Dwellers who value intellect and advancement. When the Norhin are sent in peace by King Zahn, he is disobeyed by his sister, Sedessa. The nasty woman  murders the Queen and nearly murders baby Princess Kyla, before starting a war. Sedessa is a horrible person, who is punished for her crimes and all but forgotten. Fast forward to 15 years later, a teen Lockni boy named Delgo and his friend, Filo, are out getting into trouble as boys will do and they meet a beautiful, teenage Kyla. Not to give away the whole story or anything but Delgo and Kyla are an item and use their love to unite the Lockni and the Norhin people against Sedessa, who has returned with an army of misfits.

I give this film a solid 4 Flower review. It has action, adventure, funny moments, and love. Some reviews have said the story is confusing but I say, “What’s confusing about Romeo and Juliet in a fantasy land uniting the Montagues and the Capulets against a bee with an itch and some lizardy invaders?”

The voice acting was good (except Jennifer Love Hewitt who played Princess Kyla, she needed some more emotion…luckily there were few parts that needed it) and the story was fun. The only real fault is that you can see that the budget did not permit great animation, but it wasn’t horrifying like these movies listed by Topless Robot.

Example From the List…LOL

About Elizabeth Delana Rosa

Elizabeth Delana Rosa has always been a writer and reader. When she first learned letter and words in Kindergarten, she wrote about pigs who “groo” wings and became “butterfys.” Elizabeth knew way back then that she would have a love affair with books. They have overtaken her life and have been a constant companions. Now over 20 years later, that love flows over into writing blogs, reviews, poetry and fantasy novels. Her blog recently broke the 3000 followers mark.
