Review of Godzilla

I’ve been sick lately so I did what every sick person does I went to the movies to share my misery.

Movie : Godzilla 3-D

Godzill

IMDB Synopsis: The world’s most famous monster is pitted against malevolent creatures who, bolstered by humanity’s scientific arrogance, threaten our very existence.

My Synopsis: We follow the Brody family as they attempt to uncover the truth behind a Japanese Nuclear Facilities meltdown. While Joe Brody focuses on the death of his wife, his grown son Ford joins the fight against the MUTOs (Massive Unidentified Terrestrial Organisms). While cities are laid to waste, perhaps our only hope for survival is Godzilla.

Rating: 4 Stars

I really enjoyed Godzilla 3-D, it was action packed and the extra dimension added for an in your face experience. There was a lot of focus on the human story and how our toxic waste brought a new rise to the behemoths. The only draw back is that I wanted more MUTOs vs Godzilla violence. It seemed a tiny (OK one star’s worth) let down. I wish that we were focused more on the big tail monsters destroying the world not the man screaming in fear, but getting the job done. Look for Easter eggs or bits of tongue in cheek references to Godzilla’s glorious past throughout the film and watch out for Godzilla 2 that has already been confirmed.
